Penseive

Penseive!!! You would think its a figment of Rowlings imagination. A shallow stone bowl with strange carvings in an ancient language ...A bowl to place the  thoughts plucked from your brain and immortalize them so that you can enter them whenever you choose? Thoughts You can relive in absolute stand still like nothing else exists but that one thought!!

As absurd as the idea sounds, truth is  it exists...And there is no necessity for a fancy bowl and complicated spells. All it takes is a faint whiff of a submerged, familiar scent as somebody breezes by you at the train station ,to pull you into the memory. As it takes you along, there might be an awkward transition where you are peering into an old thought and are being drawn into it by the all encompassing happiness in it, but then there is also a maddening bickering on the platform thats reprimanding you for blocking somebody path...
 But in no time you would have lost your way out of that thought ..can you feel your heart warming up with the mere appearance of a special person as you glaze through that memory? Are you struck by how perfect everything feels there and how you complete the  thought that was waiting for you somewhere lost?...The inexplicable rush of feeling beckons you into a warm bright smile :) :)....As you watch in amazement and edge closer to overhear the conversation in the memory..as if by reflex the powerful acoustics of your ringing cellphone transport you back ...you look around you, searching in bewildered confusion through the the sea of faces streaming around you for the trigger to your memory.   You abandon the scan immediately as you realise that it was just a "familiar scent " that took you there ...
The smile might still be intact as you take the call and you might not realize it as you gallop to meet  your friend waiting outside...But you my friend just experienced a Penseive!
